The maritime transpotation improves people’s lives by bringing goods closer to users, but it will generate 3% of global CO2 emissions. In Europe these emissions are curbed, shipping companies must find solutions or pay emission rights. We work to trap those emissions.
Ships emit 3% of global CO2, in Europe this is 109,000,000 tons of CO2 annually.
Therefore Europe is initiating measures to restrict these CO2 emissions, with rates of €85 per ton emitted, a measure included in Objective 55 FIX TO 55
In January 2024 ships pay 30% of these emissions, or they must offset them.
In 2025 the cost will be 50% of these emissions, and ships with a lower transport tonnage will also be included, making the market multiply and compete for the purchase of compensation for CO2 emissions.
In 2026 the cost will be 70%, and in 2030 it will be 100% of emissions.
These measures seek to put brakes on CO2 emissions, not on navigation.
